Samsung Galaxy Note Edge Review, Pros and Cons
A smartphone with an Edge Screen? Yes it's, and it's from Samsung, you want more? it's a new member in the Galaxy Note family. Samsung's new smartphone is called Galaxy Note Edge" and it's the first smartphone with a Curved Edge screen in the market.
Samsung provide its new smartphone with 2.7GHz Quad-Core processor, 3GB of RAM like all Note phones and it's available in 32GB internal storage with the ability to add up to 64GB of MicroSD card.
Galaxy Note Edge support 2.5G, 3G and 4G networks and it's running until now the Android 4.4 KitKat but hoping to be updated to Android L. Like the Galaxy S5 Samsung provide its new phone with Finger Scanner and Gesture, Accelerometer, Geo-magnetic, Gyroscope,
RGB ambient light, Proximity, Barometer, Hall Sensor,
Finger Scanner, UV, HRM.
The new smartphone open doors to companies and give them ideas maybe to create a phone similar to Samsung's new phone, or even building a phone with 2 curved screens (we expect everything).
But even if the Galaxy Note Edge seems from the future and has a lot to say, every smartphone must have Cons alongside with its Pros.
The reason why the Galaxy Note 4 is lighter than the Edge model is the curved screen and some small details inside the phone that add 66 grams.
Also it happen sometimes when You're watching a video and get disturbed with a notification on the screen, this will not happen with the Galaxy Note edge because everything will be shown on the curved edge screen.
The Note Edge is a little bit similar to Galaxy Note 3, but the company did something special this time. Samsung for the first time use metal in its Note smartphones after a long series of plastic structure which will give this phone more elegance and push to the next level.
The company allow its users to customize the edge screen with whatever they want (a design, decorate it with a photo, writing their names on it, showing time, twitter notifications..) and all this with the "Express Me" feature.
The new display is not like what many peoples think, the Note Edge has just one display, it's just curved in the side so you can display the main content on it not just for notifications.
The OIS Technology will allow You to take more stable photos (OIS= Optical Image Stabilization) and take shake-free video and better pictures in dark places (in low light places).
The Multitasking feature which allow you to use two apps is now developed, with the Note Edge you can now add the second app wherever you want not just in the half of the screen so you're completely free in sizing your apps, how to use it, where to put it and put it over just by swiping from the corner of the screen (just like closing a video on YouTube on Tablet or Smartphone).
Galaxy S5 users were obliged sometimes to repeat the process of unlocking the phone with their fingers tens of times because they need to swipe in a specific corner, from top to down, touching the screen then swiping down, you mustn't swipe fast, and not slow... while in the iPhone 5S you need just to put your finger on the Home Button (without problems or headaches).
Samsung didn't solve the problem, it's true that the Finger scanner in the Note phones is a new feature but it's not developed, we can say it's the same as the Galaxy S5 so you may face the same problems.
In the reality the ideal design of the finger scanner is circular or rectangular to be responsive with users fingers (especially with those who have BIG FINGERS!!).
So if you have a big finger use the regular code.
Personally I think it's enough while others think that Samsung must add some pixels, at least 5 megapixel.
As You know, the edge screen is a second screen, so you'll be obliged to watch online videos with just the regular one while the curved screen still for notifications and other things.
If you don't like this new feature, it's not a problem at all you can just buy a Galaxy Note 4, and even with a curved screen you still have a bigger screen that the iPhone 5S.
So What do you think about the Galaxy Note Edge? your comments are very appreciated

A Smartphone from the FutureThe Galaxy Note Edge come with a completely new revolutionary idea to add more functions to its smartphone, which is two screens in the same screen. Samsung announced its smartphone at IFA 2014 in Berlin with the Galaxy Note 4.
Samsung Galaxy Note Edge: Pros
Thicker
In the reality the Galaxy Note Edge and the Galaxy Note 4 are "almost" completely similar, the same processor, camera, RAM.. except some external details in the design. So we have 2 grams in the Note Edge and 174 grams in the Note 4, it's also thicker (8.3mm in G. Edge and 8.5mm in G. Note 4).The reason why the Galaxy Note 4 is lighter than the Edge model is the curved screen and some small details inside the phone that add 66 grams.
A New Design and Edge Screen
The curved screen will give you the ability to do more in Less spaceSo You'll not be obliged to record your voice, open contacts.. by doing all the regular steps and using the whole screen because now everything in the edge screen (photo below), it will help you to access to your frequently used apps faster than before.
Premium Screen
As I said, the Note edge is similar to the Note 4, and both phones are provided with Super AMOLED 5.6-inch Quad HD resolution display (1440 x 2560) with 525 pixels per inch. The new display is not like what many peoples think, the Note Edge has just one display, it's just curved in the side so you can display the main content on it not just for notifications.
Camera: Bright and Clear photos
Samsung provide its new phone with 16 megapixel smart OIS rear camera that can take high quality photos in dark places. The phone also has a 3.7 megapixel camera. The OIS Technology will allow You to take more stable photos (OIS= Optical Image Stabilization) and take shake-free video and better pictures in dark places (in low light places).
The S-Pen is now Developed
Samsung make the S Pen thicker and more sensitive to its Galaxy Touch screens, also the company make the S Pen in the same color as the phone, so if you bought a White Galaxy Note the S-Pen will be white, in place of black for all colors.S Pen offers an improved digital handwriting experience through enhanced pressure sensitivity.
A Free Flowing Multitasking
One of the best features available in Samsung Galaxy phones (and some other android phones) is the Multitasking Feature (which still absent in IOS devices).
Better Battery and Super Charging Feature
I'm sure You'll like this feature. Galaxy Note Edge is now faster by 30% in charging, according to Samsung the phone can go from 0% to 50% in just 30 minutes!! and if you need more battery life you can just use the "Ultra Power Saving Mode".Thanks to charging speed improvement, waiting times of Galaxy Note Edge have decreased significantly. Half charged only within an hour, could go from zero to 50% in only 30 minutes – usually a 55-minute process. All you have to do is plug in and get dressed after taking a relaxing shower. If you're running out of your time, use Ultra Power Saving mode.
Samsung Galaxy Note Edge Cons
It's really hard to find cons in this phone after this long list of Pros and features, especially that we know it's similar to the Note 4 (which is my favorite phone until now) but this doesn't mean it's without negative points or it will stop me.Battery is Less than the Galaxy Note 4
It's true that both phones announced in the same day at the same even and have the same parts and power BUT Not the battery, the Galaxy Note Edge has 3,000mAh battery while the Galaxy Note 4 has 3,220mAh battery. I really don't know why! maybe the curved screen get some space inside the phone or maybe the company want to make the Note 4 better...Finger Scanner is the Same as Galaxy S5
One of the Negative points in the Galaxy S5 is the design of fingerprint scanner which is not the ideal design for a smartphone.Galaxy S5 users were obliged sometimes to repeat the process of unlocking the phone with their fingers tens of times because they need to swipe in a specific corner, from top to down, touching the screen then swiping down, you mustn't swipe fast, and not slow... while in the iPhone 5S you need just to put your finger on the Home Button (without problems or headaches).
Front Facing Camera is Not the Best
While some companies start focusing on the front facing camera to attract selfies lovers (like Microsoft with the Selfie Phone), Samsung don't care too much about the front facing camera and choose to keep it 3.7MP.Personally I think it's enough while others think that Samsung must add some pixels, at least 5 megapixel.
The Edge Screen can Be a Problem!
It's true that the Edge Screen is a new feature, but in my opinion I think it's not beautiful (I prefer the regular screen), maybe you like it and you'll buy a Note Edge but it can sometimes be a problem for example while watching videos on YouTube.
It's a Galaxy Note 4 with an Edge Screen
What I didn't expected from Samsung is released two smartphones with the same specifications and features. The Galaxy Note Edge is a Galaxy Note 4 with A Curved Edge ScreenSo choosing between the two phones will not be difficult at all, just ask yourself "Do I like the Edge Screen?".
Conclusion
Samsung Galaxy Note Edge is a good phone, and I think it's one of the most powerful smartphones in the Market until now, with 2.7GHz Quad-Core processor and 3GB of RAM, but Not everyone is a Curved Screen Fan.So What do you think about the Galaxy Note Edge? your comments are very appreciated
