Apple Patents a New Technology to Build All-Glass IOS Devices

The All-Glass iPhone and iPad was the hope of many apple users, and we saw a lot of "The Next iPhone Concepts" which shows an iPhone all made from glass and nothing except glasses. Those concepts has started before the iPhone 4S and with every iPhone they say that it will be made completely from glasses and they imagine how it will look like. But all this was Fake in that time.

When I saw those news on TechCrunch (via Apple insider) I remember the big number of videos that designers upload to YouTube to imagine the design of the next iPhone and every time I see these videos I say to my self "If apple build an iPhone like peoples want or imagine, it will become the best smartphone ever".
Peoples want what we don't have. Apple said.

But it seems that those concepts will become true and the company now have what peoples want especially with Apple's last patent that explain the possibility to build an All-Glass iPhone or any IOS device (without using any other materiel, no plastic, no metal.. just glasses).

An electronic device may have a glass housing structures. The glass housing structures may be used to cover a display and other internal electronic device components. The glass housing structure may have multiple glass pieces that are joined using a glass fusing process. A peripheral glass member may be fused along the edge of a planar glass member to enhance the thickness of the edge. A rounded edge feature may be formed by machining the thickened edge. Raised fused glass features may surround openings in the planar glass member. Multiple planar glass members may be fused together to form a five-sided box in which electronic components may be mounted. Raised support structure ribs may be formed by fusing glass structures to a planar glass member. Opaque masking material and colored glass may be used to create portions of the glass housing structures that hide internal device components from view. Via: Patft uspto

I know that it's complex words, but You don't need to read it because I will try to write the most important things about apple's new patent.
The best part here is that this new patent will change the meaning of technology designing in all the devices, from smartphones, tablets and even TVs, so the next iTV can be made from glass (until now there's no leaks about this, but we can at least imagine).

According to this amazing patent, the All-Glass tech can be provided in any device, so in the future we will see an

  • All-Glass TVs
  • All-Glass Smartphones
  • All-Glass Tablets
The future All-Glass iPhone or whatever apple device will be designer to be
  • Stronger to get maximum durability against scratches and drops (especially drop tests)
  • More elegant to attract more users (especially android users)
  • Weight Saving

This technology will allow apple to move to the second level so after the front and back glass like we saw in the iPhone 4 and 4S, the next iPhones (not the iPhone 6) will be completely made from glass. But the question here is

Where apple will put the inside materials and how it will be hidden in the Glasses?

This is a logic question, because the plastic now is added to attach and hide the inside materials (battery, cables, chips...) if the device will be made from glasses (which is transparent) how it will be hidden?.
Here, the company can tint the back of its IOS device with a translucent color or made opaque to hide what users will not be happy to see on its smartphone.

According to these information the All-Glass IOS devices can be true and there's a big possibility to see this technology on Apple's next iPhone, iPad or iTV.
If you have anything to add don't forget to leave a comment below, I will be happy to read it.
