Samsung Galaxy S5 Review, Features and Impressions: Should you buy it?
All the world was waiting for the release of Samsung's awaited smartphone the "Galaxy S5", and after the release there were many different opinions. Some peoples think that Samsung didn't get a good job with this smartphone and it's under level, and if you ask them about the reason of their opinions they will answer that it's the same as the Galaxy S4. And in the other hand a lot of peoples like this smartphone especially with its new amazing features.
The Samsung Galaxy S5 come with a high resolution display, improved camera, heart rate sensor and an updated design, Wait don't forget ! the SGS5 come also with a Fingerprint Sensor.
The SGS5 is close from becoming the most sale smartphone in 2014 and combine the other big companies and their smartphones such as LG, HTC, Sony and Apple.
The Galaxy S5 is provided with a 2.5GHz quad-core CPU, 2GB of RAM, a 2800mAh (removable) battery, 16 / 32GB of memory (with up to 128GB extra through microSD), one of the world's most vibrant screens that's been extended to 5.1-inches and added biometrics, and it's running Android 4.4 KitKat.
The phone is now on sale in many countries in the world with $230 with two years of contract from Telus, Bell and rogers. And if you want to buy the S5 without contract you'll need to pay $700.
One of the new things in the design of Galaxy S5 is it's waterproof, and by waterproof I didn't mean you can dive with the smartphone for 5 or 6 meters but it mean that it can be immersed in up to one meter of water for up to 30 minutes. But be careful before you put it in the water be sure you close the back and seal the charging port.
And like the past year's smartphone the buttons in the GS5 are in the same place (power and the volume buttons), but the company add a new micro-usb port: There's now a micro-USB 3.0/MHL 2.0 port on the bottom, which is protected by a waterproof tab.
When of the most important changes that you will noticed in the S5 is the Heart rate sensor under the camera (I will talk about it later).
The Fingerprint Scanner in the S5 is on the Home button like the iPhone 5S and not on the screen as many rumors and leaks said, but the way to unlock the phone using your finger is different: in the iPhone 5S you just need to put your finger on the Home button and BOOM the Phone is unlocked but on the Galaxy S5 you must swipe your finger over the home button several times, allowing the sensor to read the inner live layers of the tip of your finger. Using signal strength, the sensor can draw a "map" of your fingerprint. You can store up to three prints total.
But one of the problems that you will face with the SGS5 is sometimes the sensor will not be able to read your fingerprint that's mean you must swipe you finger many times, the main cause of this problem is the design of the home button.
In the two smartphones the Fingerprint scanner used to unlock the phone, in the iPhone 5S you can also use it as an alternative to your password in the app store and itunes but the Galaxy S5 lets you make online payments through PayPal, as well as access a private "locker" for confidential files, that's mean you will be able to shop online just using your finger print, I think that Apple will do this in the next generations of iPhone (maybe in the iPhone 6).
Like Apple, Samsung keeps the fingerprint ID in a secured part of the phone (encrypted), so it never goes to any servers.
The water resistant features in the GS5 allow you to use the phone while swimming like listening to music, taking photos, playing games.. without worrying about the water.
Samsung thinks that the Heart Rate features in the Galaxy S5 is the Power or a Super feature, in the reality the most of smartphone can do this using the camera flash from some apps available in the app store or google play, and the result will be the same as the galaxy S5.
So this feature is not too much important, I mean who will use this everyday even if you practice sports regularly, maybe fitness geeks will use it (if they don't have a heart rate monitor yet).
If you have kids you can control what they can use in your phone, just enter the birth date of each kid and the Galaxy S5 will tell the kid to pick an age older than 13. You'll need to pay $5 a month for a premium service that includes a real pass-code, not just your birth year.
One of the new software tricks that Samsung add to its smartphone is the tidbit, download booster, which give you faster download speeds on your Wi-Fi and carrier data connections.
Also you will notice that the interface has been changed, Samsung release an updated version of its TouchWiz user interface, incorporating the Flipboard-powered My Magazine (which you can turn it off if you don't like it) over the top of the stock Android operating system, The settings menu, has had also a change to round icons.
Older Samsung features like Air browse, Air view, Smart stay, Smart scroll, Smart rotation Safety Assistance, Blocking Mode and Easy Mode are all still here but the most of them are buried in the settings, so you have to want them in order to find them.
With the big competition of Smartphone's cameras Samsung try to built a camera that take the best image quality. the company added a 16MP rear camera,Images taken on automatic mode are characteristically colorful and clear, especially those taken in ample natural light. Samsung's new, co-processing power and Isocell sensor together make the camera quicker, low light images clearer, and some of the neat tricks you'll read about possible.. the front facing camera still 2MP so if you're one of those who use the camera just to take selfies the Galaxy S5 is not the best choice for you.
the GS5's top resolution uses a 16:9 aspect ratio for widescreen images, rather than the traditional 4:3.
One of the other camera problems is the night photos, don't worry the Galaxy S5 has the solution, it can take clear and good photos in dark places even without using the flash.
Video captured in the phone's default 1080p HD resolution but if you access to settings, you can also turn on UHD video, or ultra-HD, which is also known as 4K video.
The Samsung Galaxy S5 is a good smartphone and it can combine the other big smartphones and especially the M8 and the iPhone 5S but personally I think that Samsung focus on things which are not important (like the heart rate monitor) and this make me think that the Galaxy S5 don't worth to replace your current phone with it.

Design
If you want my opinion, the new smartphone is a bigger version of Galaxy S4, when you put the GS5 near the GS4 you will notice one thing, which is there is no big differents between the design of the two smartphones. It seems that Samsung didn't have too much inspiration when it design the Galaxy S5.One of the new things in the design of Galaxy S5 is it's waterproof, and by waterproof I didn't mean you can dive with the smartphone for 5 or 6 meters but it mean that it can be immersed in up to one meter of water for up to 30 minutes. DISPLAY
Samsung release the Galaxy S5 with a 5.1-inch 1080p HD Super AMOLED display, that's mean it's 0.1-inch bigger than the Galaxy S4. Samsung didn't focus too much on the screen that's why the S5 come with the same resolution as the S4 (1920 x 1080 pixel resolution) and a pixel density of 432ppi, but it steel an amazing display with clear and colorful images and videos.FINGERPRINT SCANNER
When the iPhone 5S was released by Apple, all the world was surprised and like the Touch ID feature in that smartphone, that's why Samsung walk on the same steps as Apple and release the Galaxy S5 with a Fingerprint Scanner. HEART RATE MONITOR
