A New Generation Of Samsung Processors "Exynos 5 Octa"
Samsung has unveiled a new and improved version of it processors with eight cores for mobile devices called "Exynos 5 Octa".
The processor will be available for users in the last quarter of the current year. The company said that the new version is characterized by technology "Heterogeneous Multi-Processing" (HMP), which allows better exploitation of processor cores compared to the previous generation.
The new processor has the same architectonic (big.LITTLE) of the previous generation, which consists of two tranches, each of it is quad-core. The first generation was able only to run a single chip with the four cores at one time, while the new generation run the two tranches together with maximum power.
According to Samsung the new processor contributes more effectively to save energy for the tasks that do not require a large processing power, such as reading books or surfing the Internet and it's able at the same time to deal with tasks that require high capacity, such as running a high-quality video or big games by activating the appropriate number of processor cores.
